This is a fantastic antique mahogany bureau dating from the reign of George III. Created from the finest flame mahogany it has inlaid satinwood detailing to the interior.

This lovely antique mahogany bureau has been made to make the best use of the fine grain of the flame mahogany the patina of which will only improve with age. The interior is truly lovely with satinwood inlay fronts to the drawer and central cupboard front. The cupboard and side panels also feature delicate marquetry pictures of a fountain on the cupboard and two plants growing out of urns in the side panels. As can been seen from the photographs, the attention to detail is magnificent.

 

In all the stepped satinwood interior comprises ten small drawers, a cupboard and various secret compartments. This antique mahogany bureau is also fitted with an lovely green leather inset gold tooled writing surface which provides an enhanced writing experience. There are pull outs on each side of the bureau which support the fall when it is down in the writing position.

This wonderful antique mahogany bureau is raised on stylish splay feet and has three full width and two half-width graduated drawers which are fitted with the original decorative brass handles and it comes with working locks and keys.
