Antique Victorian Library Table 8ft Long

Please note that the chairs shown are not included but may be purchased seperately.

Dating from around 1880, this antique library table can actually be accurately described as a partners library table since it is finished on both sides and has drawers on both sides. This, of course, means that it does not have to be placed against a wall and can be used anywhere in a room. Of particular note are the curved edges to the table top.

Quite apart from the large and very useful writing surface, this table doesn’t short change you in the storage department either. There are three very spacious drawers on each side of the table providing plenty of space for your stationery and small items of office equipment.

The work surface has been expertly re-lined with a high quality hand tooled hide writing surface, as close as possible to the original.

This photograph clearly shows the lovely hide writing surface with its hand-tooled gilt decoration

This antique library table is offered for sale in excellent condition having been fully restored by our craftsmen in our own workshops where an attrentive eye is kept on quality and attention to detail.

The table has been made from hand carved solid mahogany with attractive rounded corners and the table top has been expertly relined with an inset green and gold tooled leather writing surface.

It has three frieze drawers on each side, all with solid mahogany linings, and it is raised on four elegant square section tapering legs.

A large and heavy writing table like this needs sturdy legs to provide support and this table is very well supported – as you can see.

This is a table that could fulfill many different functions including use as a writing or reading table but equally so as a boardroom table or conference table adding style and atmosphere to your meetings.
