Crafted from that much sought after and admired wood, burr walnut, this is a very fine and decorative Antique Victorian Writing Table dating from around 1880 and immediately available to be shipped to almost any worldwide destination.
The writing table top has two oval writing insert in beautifully seasoned green leather. For your storage needs there are two drawers located one at either side with plenty of room for your stationery and writing instruments as well as small personal items.
This antique Victorian writing table stands on a very sturdy, yet very decorative, stretcher base which is mounted on cabriole legs. The whole of the stretcher base is also hand made from solid walnut featuring sumptuous hand carved decoration.
This lovely Victorian writing table has a nicely shaped table top which has been testefully inlaid with intricate interlaced strap-work bands at each end. It also has skillfully applied marquetry decoration and crossbanding running along the sides of the table.
Furthermore. the edges of the desk top are hand carved with foliate decoration on a matt background – good to look at and very nice to the touch.
Please note that this antique writing table is mounted onto casters for ease of movement.
Condition
In terms of its condition, we hope that the photographs provided will give you some idea as to the excellent condition that we offer this Victorian writing table for sale in. The whole item has been fully restored in our own workshops to make sure that it continues to give pleasure for another 100 years or so, at least!
