We are, therefore, delighted to be able to present this lovely antique Victorian satinwood and marquetry bureau de dame with ormolu mounts which was made around 1880. As you can see from the images supplied below and in the gallery, it is surmounted with a three quarter elegant brass galley.
A drop flat opens to show a fitted interior comprising three small drawers, a red leather gold tooled writing surface and a well.
The bureau is embellished with wonderful floral marquetry decoration that is clearly the work of a master craftsman, as can be seen from the photograph below and those in the gallery.
This antique bureau de dame stands on sturdy, yet very elegant, cabriole legs which are decorated with beautiful ormolu mounts. Furthermore, the bureau is supplied complete with its original working lock and key.
