Made from top quality and very attractive burr walnut, this is a fine example of a Victorian Style partners pedestal desk dating from the latter part of the twentieth century.
The quality of the craftsmanship that has gone into the making of this partners desk is obvious to anyone who looks at it. It has been hand crafted from high quality burr walnut which is particularly prized for its decorative grain. At only £3,575 it represents excellent value.
The top of the desk is lined with a brown hide writing surface which has been hand tooled with gilded border and gold leaf decoration.
The desk features four drawers on the right side including one with double depth suitable for filing. The left hand side has one proper drawer and three dummy drawers which open to reveal a cupboard with a shelf. In addition there is a middle drawer for all your stationery. The drawers are lined with solid oak.

refers to the swirling figure present in nearly all walnut when cut and polished, and especially in the wood taken from the base of the tree where it joins the roots. However the true burr is a rare growth on the tree where hundreds of tiny branches have started to grow. Burr walnut produces some of the most complex and beautiful figuring you can find.
