A Secretaire Full Of Secrets! A very special piece of fine furniture, this is an Antique Queen Anne Secretaire dating from around 1705, worthy of your special attention.

We are delighted to offer this superb antique walnut secretaire for £8,250. This is one of those pieces that fill you with admiration when you consider its age and the level of craftsmanship that has gone into its making, everything, of course, having been painstakingly done by hand by a time-served craftsman.

This very early 18th Century English Queen Anne antique walnut secretaire chest is fashioned from beautiful burr walnut which brings a beautiful colour and patina to the overall appearance of the piece. There are distinct contrasts in the wood which combine to create a unique effect.

There is a secret a cushion moulded drawer in the frieze above the crossbanded quarter veneered fall front which drops down to reveal a leathered writing surface that can be raised to present an angled writing slope.

Once open, this fascinating antique walnut secretaire also reveals a distinctive interior comprising ten small drawers together with a cupboard. Yet more storage is revealed when this cupboard door opens to reveal four more drawers.

Even the most avid stationery fan would be hard pushed to run out of storage space with this well appointed antique walnut secretaire.

We are, however, not yet done in revealing the storage secrets of this Antique Queen Anne Secretaire Chest for the three sets of pigeon holes located just above the drawers each slide and reveal yet more secret drawers.

There is a yet another secret drawer located inside the secretaire. To complete the storage offered by this secretaire chest, the base is equipped with two half width and two full width drawers  – capacious and useful.

In terms of distinctive decoration, the chest is outlined throughout with decorative herringbone stringing. Doors have brass drop and bat shaped handles and the whole stands on bun feet which are absolutely typical of the Queen Anne Period.
